Meta‑analyses sit at the top of the evidence pyramid, because they combine all the relevant studies on a single question. AI agents can now run the whole workflow. The question is how far they can be trusted.

We tested an agentic AI system on 308 meta‑analyses from 20 published studies, with and without expert supervision.
